The Teachers Association of Long Beach (TALB) is partnering with Trade School Long Beach to host a workshop on the Basics of Mending on Saturday, Oct. 3rd, 2015 from 11am - 1pm at the TALB office, 4362 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807.
In a nutshell, you can be part of the workshop if you bring one of the requested items. You are trading knowledge for barter items.
Did a button pop off of your favorite shirt? Do you have dress slacks that need to be hemmed? Come to the Basics of Mending to learn some tips and tricks to fix these problems. We will also talk about how to get the most out of your clothes and how to make them last. Bring your shirts that need buttons sewn and your nice slacks that need hand hemming and I will teach you fast ways to mend them. If you already know how to sew this event will be great for you because you can sew with new friends. And everything is better with friends. What to bring: Your shirts that need buttons, the buttons, fancy pants (the kind that need a hand done hem) to hem.
To attend the workshop, bring one of the following:
+ cool picture frames, no glass needed
+ fusible interfacing
+snack to share
