About the Presenter:

Dr. Victor Thompson is the founder and first and immediate past president of National Pacific Islander Educator Network (NPIEN), since its beginning in 2001.  His parents are from American Samoa, and he is a Long Beach native.  He is a former teacher, assistant principal, and principal and is the Director of Student Support Services for the Los Angeles County Office of Education.  For most of his career, he was one of the only school administrators of Pacific Islander ancestry on the US mainland.
