"How to Engage with African American Parents"

Join us for a discussion hosted by TALB's Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee (EMAC) aimed at helping teachers engage with parents of their African American students. The discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Kimberly Johnson.

Dr. Kimberly Johnson, Ed.D. has worked in the field of education for over eighteen years. She is committed to motivating students to achieve their personal goals and aspirations and is very passionate about supporting students in reaching their highest potential. Dr. Johnson is currently serving as the Long Beach Unified School District Female Leadership Academy / Advanced Placement Outreach Coordinator. She works with middle/high schools in cultivating their school site programs. Kimberly is very interested in her community and is very active in the Long Beach Jack & Jill of America chapter, currently serving as the Teen Advisor. She is also an active member in her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Theta Alpha Omega Chapter where she serves as the Education Chairperson. Dr. Johnson has been married to Floyd for the past nineteen years and has two teenage boys, Floyd II (18) and Cameron (16).
