Every year, we march at the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade to demonstrate that teachers, nurses, and librarians support the human dignity and civil rights of all children and educators so that together we can secure a more just and equitable society.
Will you join us?
Everyone is welcome to march in the parade with us. Bring your family or even encourage your students to march with us too! If you'd like to join us, please send email to firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate the number of people coming. Before the parade earlier that week, we will send you a follow up email with any additional information, along with a cell phone number for you to have just in case you need assistance that day.
The parade will be on Saturday, January 17th, 2015. It will begin at about 10:30am so you'll want to plan to get to the area between 9:00am - 10:00am. Parking is available at the Long Beach Community College (LBCC) - Pacific Coast Campus, 1305 E. Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90806 (enter at Orange Ave and 19th Street). From there, you can take a shuttle that will drop you off at Martin Luther King Jr Avenue at 10th Street. Once you're there, just look for the TALB banner or you can go to the registration booth and ask where we are assigned. (Or you can just call the cell phone number we will give you a few days before the parade - so be sure to email email@example.com to get on that list!)
Note: Shuttle service is provided by Long Beach Transit and operates from 8:00am - 10:30am.
