TALB’s proposals were drafted by the TALB Bargaining Team after they reviewed all of the bargaining surveys submitted by TALB members. The TALB Board then reviewed the proposals. Finally, the TALB Rep Council (elected TALB members from each school site) considered, modified, and approved the initial proposals. The proposals have been forwarded to the LBUSD, and after public review of both the TALB and LBUSD initial proposals, we will start formal negotiations, typically in the early fall. In addition to salary increases, the proposals include improvements in preparation time; reductions in the number of meetings; adding transparency to the transfer process; better classroom teacher support for severe classroom disruptions; and immediate administrative response for classrooms that exceed OSHA heat standards.
