LBUSD teachers, nurses, librarians and speech pathologists have been working in classrooms with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. The time has long passed for the community to invest in its children and provide a suitable learning environment that is consistent for all students in Long Beach Unified. At the September 29th Representative Council meeting, a resolution will be discussed to present to the LBUSD Board of Education, to put forth a Schools Investment Bond for the specific purpose of providing air-conditioning in ALL LBUSD classrooms.
TALB members, please provide the Association with classroom temperature data. Send an email to President, Barry Welsch at firstname.lastname@example.org with a picture of a thermometer reading and tell us what school and room number you’re in.
