SOLIDARITY AND ACTIVISM KEY TO SUCCESS
TALB Site Representatives met all day on Saturday, August 27, to prepare for the challenges of school funding uncertainty and a local LBUSD facilities bond. Please thank your “Rep” for all they do…their time on this Saturday, and all year long, is voluntary. Reps spent the day, sharpening their organizing skills and learning about the importance of initiatives on the November ballot. TALB President Barry Welsch provided training on critical local and state initiatives. CTA Secretary-Treasurer, David Goldberg inspired the group with an impassioned speech on teacher activism and CTA Board of Director – District I, Leslie Littman, engaged members in one-on-one conversations on the value of our profession and the urgency to be politically engaged. For specifics, please contact your site Rep.
SUPPORT YOUR ELECTED REP
Please be active and support your TALB Site Rep. They need your participation to make sure your site is strong and active. Help them distribute the UPDATES and attend TALB meetings at your site. Make learning conditions and your working conditions a priority by becoming active in TALB. If your site does not have a “Rep” consider running for the position. If you need help with this process or have questions about how to get your school represented, just call the TALB office at 562-426-6433...ask for Barry, Chris, or Arian.
